Windsurfing Canada sanctions the annual Canadian Windsurfing Championships to determine the Champion all-around Canadian Man and Woman in Canada, in the three major disciplines of the sport: in Course racing, in Slalom and in Freestyle/Waves. WC seeks event hosts at various locations across Canada, and assists Race Committees in any way it can. In Quebec WC strives to provide documentation in French with francophone race officials.
The competition to determine Canada's top windsurfers began in 1985 and has been successfully held every year since then. WC has also sanctioned local and regional Championships wherever possible in recent years, and seeks to broaden this vital aspect of the sport in Canada to the greatest degree possible. WC also supports the Olympic Team wherever it can, and its members help finance the Olympic class annually.
Windsurfing Canada maintains a database of sail numbers of its members. WC also promotes setting up new clubs, often assisting them with launch access problems, in building their membership and holding competitions. WC lobbies government agencies on such issues as launch access, freedom of choice on wearing flotation devices and other issues vital to the sport.
Your membership and support is needed to allow Windsurfing Canada to maintain the highest non-Olympic level of windsurfing competition possible in Canada!
